Holy Spirit’s Communion

by Pastor Marie

God’ s ultimate desire is to have constant communion with us – It is His love’s motivation- His heart.

We need to  yield to His communion mood when He calls us to Himself.

John 15

Like a diamond, God is multifaceted and the Holy Spirit wants to reveal the nature of God to us through communion.

Prayer is communion with the Holy Spirit. There are different forms of prayer.

Petition – asking God for what we need. Philippians 4:6-7 : “Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.”

Thanksgiving – A way to enter into the Presence of God. Ps 100: Enter into His gates with thanksgiving. We are grateful for what He has done.

I Thes 5:18- “ In everything give thanks, for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.”    17: pray without ceasing.”

Supplication – the humble and earnest cry that comes from the deep desire of the spirit and soul.  Acts 1:14- “ these all continued with one accord in prayer and supplication…”   “ I exhort, therefore, that, first of all, supplications, prayers and intercessions, and giving of thanks be made for all men; for kings, and for all that are in authority; that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in godliness and honesty.” I Tim 2:1-2

Intercession –  standing in the gap for someone else. All three members of the Godhead intercede for us and through us to fulfill the eternal plan and purpose of God for our lives, which is to be transformed into His image.    Jesus ever lives to make intercession for us. Heb 7:25

Romans 8:26  “And in a similar way, the Holy Spirit takes hold of us in our human frailty to empower us in our weakness. For example, at times we don’t even know how to pray, or know the best things to ask for. But the Holy Spirit rises up within us to super-intercede on our behalf, pleading to God with emotional sighs too deep for words. 27 God, the searcher of the heart, knows fully our longings, yet he also understands the desires of the Spirit, because the Holy Spirit passionately pleads before God for us, his holy ones, in perfect harmony with God’s plan and our destiny.”

Praise  – literally raving about His goodness and greatness. Ps 100:4

Worship  – true worship happens when we have experienced a divine encounter with the living God. shachah- bow down, crouch, beseech humbly.  proskuneo – Kiss toward= expressing deep devotion and love in response to the manifest Presence of God; bringing us into the right relationship with Him.

John 4:23

Come into agreement with His Values –

His Manifested Presence comes –

When we are in Right relationship  –

Divine love is received

Worship -changes the picture because we see Him and look through His LENS at situations and our lives. We see The Throne in our midst

Worship places us on the offensive

Worship represents the voice of the Lord in our midst

Worship enables us to rightly divide the Word of truth

The Holy Spirit can show us how to defeat our enemies, how to continue to walk in peace with His perspective in mind and heart.

John 10:10

Rms 5:17- reign in life through One Jesus Christ in communion with the Holy Spirit.

“For if, through the transgression of the one individual, Death made use of the one individual to seize the sovereignty, all the more shall those who receive God’s overflowing grace and gift of righteousness reign as kings in Life through the one individual, Jesus Christ.”
