FOLLOW JESUS – Hear and Walk

In Genesis 3:8

Deep calls unto deep.

Mark 1:16-18 Come after Me and be My disciples, and I will make you become fishers of men. 18, And at once they left their nets and FOLLOWED  Him joining Him as disciples and siding with His party.

Matt 16:24-25 – “Then Jesus said to his disciples, “If any of you wants to be my FOLLOWER, you must give up your own way, take up your cross, and follow me. 25 If you try to hang on to your life, you will lose it. But if you give up your life for my sake, you will save it.

We need to Walk in submissive independence in order to get lifted into the Spirit realm, enabled to walk with Him in the outworking of His purpose and will, maintaining His abiding Presence in our walk. The walk is an ascension.

I John 2:5-6

John 13:35- “for when you demonstrate the same love I have for you by loving one another, everyone will know that you are my true follower.”

Eph 1:17-18-19

One step at a time, we follow His footsteps and walk in His ways.

You will hear a voice behind you saying: This is the way, walk ye in it. Is 30:21

I John:  We walk in fellowship with Him and in fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus Christ cleanses us from sin and unrighteousness.

We’re eternally forgiven for our sins. Jesus died on the Cross to forgive us and give us new life. When we give Jesus rule and headship over our lives, it becomes a beautiful, intimate relationship.

Our Confession of sin in our daily lives refreshes our present intimacy with the Holy Spirit as “we walk in the Spirit and do not fulfill the lusts of the flesh.” If we are committing an unknown sin, He will correct us because He loves us.

I shared last summer about walking a labyrinth and the fact that each step causes a different perspective of what we see—our viewpoint.

Consider the labyrinth a bit differently as a picture indicative of each life experience as we walk and live guided by the Spirit. The walk begins on the periphery, the outside perimeter, and in a circular motion, we walk, moving towards the center, which is Christ, within the hope of glory.

Every decision we make to follow Jesus causes us to go higher.

Every decision we make to follow our fleshly nature causes us to go lower.  We begin again outside the perimeter in every set of circumstances and choose our course.

As we choose to walk in the Spirit, we cultivate an abiding spiritual quality -and ascend upward, radiating a deep inner peace that can be perceived.

Choosing rightly causes us to overcome at every turn and draws us “upward” toward His kingdom, increasing our sensitivity to spiritual things and causing the favor of God to rest on us.

His righteousness is in His kingdom, His approbation or approval.

Matt 5:3

Phil 3:13-14

Phil 3:13 “press towards the mark, to the prize of the supernatural vocation of God in Christ Jesus.”

“So I run straight toward the goal in order to win the prize, which is God’s call through Christ Jesus to the life above.”

I John 1:8-9 But we’re also commanded to actively walk in the truth and stay in the truth—because as John says, “Anyone who wanders away and does not remain faithful to the teaching of Christ has no relationship with God” (9).

Only when we continue in the truth that we have an intimate connection with both the Father and the Son, walking with them.

Phil 1:9-11

Let’s take a moment and breathe in the Holy Spirit, renewing our relationship with the Living God, choosing to follow Him in every way. RE-VIEWING OUR COMMITMENT.

HEALING – ABUNDANT LIFE

Pray:  WE come to You, Our Father, and willingly submit to your provision and ways.

Jesus said in John 10:9-10, I am the Door. If anyone enters by Me, he will be saved and will go in and find pasture. The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I HAVE COME THAT THEY [THE SHEEP] MAY HAVE LIFE AND THAT THEY MAY HAVE IT MORE ABUNDANTLY

STAND IN SOZO- to save, deliver, protect, keep safe and sound, heal, preserve, do well, be made whole.

“Whom the Son sets free is free indeed.” John 8:36

When Jesus went into the temples, starting in Galilee, just fresh from the wilderness, empowered by the Holy Spirit, He approached the podium to read the Scriptures. He knew that He had come to bring a new kingdom with new rules: a NEW COVENANT and fulfill the prophetic words about Messiah. He turned the world upside down. Many marveled and believed.

He came to Nazareth, his hometown, to the synagogue and opened to Isaiah 61. It’s recorded in Luke 4:18,21.

Luke 4:18,21 Jesus said:

I came to set the captives free

Preach the gospel to the poor

Heal the brokenhearted

Recover sight to the blind

Set at liberty those who are oppressed

To proclaim the acceptable year of the Lord.

Luke 4:21, and he began to say to them, “Today, this Scripture is fulfilled in your hearing.”

:28 – so all those in the synagogue, when they heard these things, were filled with wrath. They thrust him out of the city and tried to toss Him off a cliff. [those from his hometown]

:30 – then passing through the midst of them, He went His way.

He continued to preach in the synagogues and demonstrate the power of God there and in the street.

Not everyone is going to want to hear about Jesus.

God desires for each of us to BE 100% WHOLE. Jesus paid the price.

Let’s do something we can all relate to and apply these truths to our lives now. Let’s use His Word to continue to set our lives on His course, His journey.

Consider that you are a multicolored air balloon created to SOAR…but you are tethered to the ground by four ropes, tied to the ground.  The goal is to become untethered, so let’s cut the ties and SOAR IN THE SPIRIT.

In Luke 4, there are four areas of our lives that Jesus paid the ransom for.

CONSIDER THEM TO BE 4 ROPES TETHERING US TO THE GROUND.

  1. Generational sins-released
  2. Ungodly belief-delivered
  3. Woundings -spirit, soul, body- healed
  4. Demonic oppression-freedom

1. Rope – generational curses- sins and family baggage

Ex 34:7 “I lavish unfailing love to a thousand generations. I forgive iniquity, rebellion, and sin. But I do not excuse the guilty….”

JESUS’ FORGIVENESS COVERS IT ALL.

Iniquity – a propensity to sin, Family lines propelled in a specific direction. Repentance is required—Recognition and acknowledgment, then repentance.

God wants to cut off these iniquities.

Iniquity pressure is real- there are triggers. Recognize them and deal with them. We need to close doors. Apply His Blood

Sins from ancestors, addictions, heart tendencies.

AGAIN…Close all the doors

GOD WANTS TO BREAK IT OFF

Consider: we’re Boxing – we get knocked down several times – Getting hit over and again.  Why? There is something there.

Exodus 20:5-6

: You shall not bow yourself down to them nor serve them. For I the LORD your God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the sons to the third and fourth generation of those that HATE ME, and showing mercy to thousands, to those that love Me and keep My commandments.

God wants to break off all generational sins from our lives.

2. Rope – Ungodly Belief. Narrative negative chatter or toxic self-thinking.

I call them the ‘twirly whirls.’  lies that we believe. Neural pathways that are unhealthy. They tether us to the earth. Ask God what the issue is. He can release you from the lie and tell you the Truth.

Ephesians 5:26 – washing of the water of the Word- Why?

The death, burial, and resurrection of Christ washed away all our sins. Yet as a believer, we still sin every day. The verse referenced speaks of a necessary CONSTANT RENEWAL, a refreshing of the Word in our hearts that cleanses and keeps us clean. A CONTINUOUS REVIVAL.

Col 3:21 Christ enthroned – fill your mind with heavenly thoughts

Romans 12:2 be transformed by the renewing of your mind.

Agree with God for your life.

It’s important that we break any contracts we have made with sin, sickness, or death. [vows]

WE receive His truth in godly living-

1 Peter 1:3 – “His divine power has given us everything we need for life and godliness through the knowledge of Him who called us by His glory and excellence.”

3. Rope – Woundings – hurts of the spirit, soul, and body.

The wounds of life happen, but God has a big Eraser and Healing Balm.

Isaiah 53-He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds

Meet Jesus where you are – Receive His healing

-GOD KNOWS HOW TO HEAL YOU-

He knows how to heal- He knows what happened to you- Listen – find Him – Forgive

He has set the table before you- Dine with Him- Receive His love- His healing intimacy.

4. Rope – Demonic Oppression

This can be a result of the other three areas.

If you leave demons alone, they will leave you alone? No

We have to Battle with demons – yes – but a situation may not always be demonic. we Can defeat them – we need Discernment I John 4

Can a Christian be possessed by a demon? No-we are redeemed

We can be oppressed. We have to identify them and deal with them.

NO LANDING STRIPS FOR DEMONIC THOUGHTS.

DO NOT GIVE THE ENEMY A SEAT AT THE TABLE.

Confess sins and actions that do not agree with the Lord

Cast down and remove from your mind any thoughts in disagreement with His Words

Submit to God, Resist the devil

Do not give place to the devil – 11 Tim 2:26

Stand Stand Stand- Apply the blood of Jesus

I John 3:8-9 “… For this purpose, the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil. Whoever has been born of God does not sin, for His Seed remains in him, and he cannot sin because he has been born of God.”

Rechem- womb- We enter the womb of mercy- being born again… and access His Life for ourselves.

THE CURTAIN, THE VEIL, WAS RENT WHEN JESUS DIED, GIVING US OPEN ACCESS TO THE THRONE ROOM AND THE HOLY OF HOLIES.

“There is a way through the veil…love never fails.” Don Potter

How do we access these truths in God? PRAYER.

Heb 4:16 “Therefore let us [with privilege], [approach boldly, draw near] the throne of grace [that is, the throne of God’s gracious, unmerited favor to us sinners] with confidence and without fear, so that we may receive mercy [for our failures] and find [His amazing] grace to help in time of need [an appropriate blessing, coming just at the right moment].”

                                                                                                                                      6

STAND IN SOZO– to save, deliver, protect, keep safe and sound, heal, preserve, do well, be made whole.

“Whom the Son sets free is free indeed.” John 8:36

[PM- Bind hopelessness] GOD BRINGS HOPE.

“Hope deferred makes the heart sick, but when the desire comes, it’s a TREE OF LIFE.” the minute you pray, God begins to move. He wants you transformed.

Biblical hope is an expectation of something good that is coming from God.

We are GOD’S sons and daughters-

LIVING OUR LIVES WITH DETERMINED PERSEVERANCE.

WE possess unrelenting boldness because of Him.

 IT IS FINISHED.

“He Who began a good work in you is able to complete it” Ps138:8

“You keep every promise you’ve ever made to me! Since YOUR LOVE FOR ME IS CONSTANT AND ENDLESS, I ask you, Lord, to finish every good thing that you’ve begun in me!” TPT

We become an untethered balloon FREE FROM ENTANGLEMENTS, soaring on the wind of the Spirit. We need to Surrender to God as each rope is cut and we rise.

OUR balloon is blue, red, and purple, and soaring…

The curtain on the temple was blue and red, and purple.

“WHOM THE SON SETS FREE IS FREE INDEED.  John 8:36

                         UNQUESTIONINGLY FREE.

DE-STRESS – RE-ASSESS – 5-Sep-2021

REFOCUS  YOUR VISION.

Are you struggling? Are you in need of more of God? Are you hungry and thirsty for more of Him?

It is imperative that we learn to wait on Him.

Psalm 27:14 Psalm 37:7

We often find ourselves in troubling circumstances, and we step into stress instead of stepping into REST. Gratitude is the open door into His Presence. When we encounter His Presence in the midst of our lives, especially in trying times, there is an acceleration of our own development as believers. He reveals to us our true identity and forms His character within us, and HIS OUTCOME is released. This is the will of God. The Prince of Peace must take up permanent residence in the center of our being in the NEW REALM of the Spirit. Then it is the work of the Holy Spirit to take what belongs to Jesus and make it real to us. John 16:15

“The outcome of His intention is the finishing line. He intends that we reach” GC

Ps 119:37- “Help me turn my eye away from illusions so that I may pursue only that which is true; drench my soul with life as I walk in Your paths.”

STRESS is a by-product of a life NOT FOCUSED ON CHRIST WITHIN IN THIS NEW REALM.

THE REAL YOU IS NOT STRESSED. GC

WE MUST STAY FILLED with God.

Overcome as we depend on Him.

Take care of our own vineyard.

Weed the garden. Get enough sunshine and fertilizer so we can grow well.

God alone offers comfort to us who are suffering in the midst of difficulties. In our brokenness, God joins us and cultivates His character within and conforms us into His image. God sees suffering as a means to develop the spiritual fruit of patient endurance in us, which produces our crop of godly righteousness and peace in our lives as we become one who has been trained or exercised by it. We become groomed by our Father and begin to display the love of Jesus Christ.

Eph 4:17- “then, by constantly using your faith, the life of Christ will be released deep inside you, and the RESTING PLACE OF HIS LOVE will become the very source and root of your life.”

Pray together: JESUS, I OPEN MY LIFE TO YOU AND ASK YOU TO BE LORD OF EVERY AREA. CHANGE ME. PURIFY ME. LET ME SEE MYSELF THE WAY YOU DO SO THAT I MAY REALIZE MY TRUE IDENTITY. WHEN I FOCUS ON YOU, I AM CONFIDENT AND COURAGEOUS-TRULY ALIVE. SO, I WILL KEEP MY FOCUS ON YOU, AND TOGETHER, WE WILL VICTORIOUSLY OVERCOME MY SHORTCOMINGS AND WEAKNESSES.

We want to be like Job.  Job 42:5–6 – “I have heard of You by the hearing of the ear, but NOW MY SPIRITUAL EYES SEE YOU, AND I PRAISE YOU, REPENTING IN DUST AND ASHES.”

In Revelation, the Word reads: “The Bride has made herself ready…clothed with linen garments.”  What does that mean?

The linen garments are the righteous acts of the Saints,.our responses to and the results formed in our lives in the midst of the troubles we face and overcome as we rise up and See God in the midst.

ONLY then we can then go higher and deeper with God, pressing on for the prize of the high calling of God. Phil 3

So, consider how God accomplishes His purposes in our lives: so that we transform into His image. He wants us to SEE HIM AS HE IS SO WE CAN BE LIKE HIM. THROUGH DIFFICULTIES.

Deut 8:3

Some instruction from Isaiah 55 is an invitation to receive the glory of the Lord’s restoration.

Are you hungry and thirsty for more of God?

Come to the waters

Gain entrance with thanksgiving and praise.

Listen carefully to God.

Eat only what is good.

Let your soul delight itself in His abundance.

Enter into a covenant relationship with God.

Seek Him, call on Him when He is near.

Return to Him.

Forsake your way

Walk in His way

Go out with joy.

Be led by the Lord Himself with peace.

Consider the operation of His Word and His faithfulness.

His thoughts are not our thoughts. His ways are higher.

As the rain and snow come down from heaven and do not return there without watering the earth, making it bear and sprout, and providing seed to the sower and bread to the eater.  SO WILL MY WORD BE WHICH GOES OUT OF MY MOUTH; IT WILL NOT RETURN TO ME VOID, WITHOUT ACCOMPLISHING WHAT I DESIRE, AND WITHOUT SUCCEEDING IN THE MATTER FOR WHICH I SENT IT.

Pray together: “Our Father, may the Glory of Your Name be the center on which our life turns. May Your Holy Spirit come upon us and cleanse us. Manifest Your kingdom on earth “Luke 11:2

Pain Relief – 22-Aug-2021

Suffering and His Identity from Pastor Marie

Pain Relief

1 Corinthians 15:45-46 (TPT)

”The spiritual life is to be pursued as though NO spiritual life exists because it is not really a separate life — Only ONE Life exists, and that is from God which is given to us moment to moment.”

Christianity — Deconstruction and Reconstruction surrounding CHAOS

Chaos — a cause of instability and PAIN:  Physical, Emotional, and Spiritual

General Pain — 3 Types :

  1. Burns, cuts, lacerations — damage to organs, muscles, bones, etc.
  2. Inflammation — swelling, throbbing, etc.
  3. Neuropathy — excessive and abnormal sensitivity: magnifies ordinary sensory outputs and converts them into pain

External Energy used for relief; Massage therapy, Sonic Heat, Hydro-thermal

Emotional and Spiritual Neuropathy  – constant emotional pain, lacking peace in their minds and hearts

John 14: 27 Jesus’ peace

  1. Restores to ONENES
  2. Single-minded focus
  3. Clears confusion
  4. Stability

“World’s” peace — lack of conflict

James 1:8 — “A double-minded man is UNSTABLE in all of his ways.”

Unstable Mind — yield Confusion — Doubt — Shakey Faith, causing “Spiritual Sensory Overload.”

S.S.O. — sends wrong signals to our minds and spirits that cause pain by magnifying untruthful messages

Pain is real — messages are NOT– “Nobody likes you.” — Too fat/ skinny/ tall/short. Etc

Negative messages – common goal: Pain, Sickness, and Death

Philippians 4:4-7 “Rejoice — communicate with God  — be Grateful.”

Philippians 4:7 “…and the Peace of God will keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.” — Because of your RELATIONSHIP with Him

Your Hearts — will receive inner peace

Your Minds  — will gain Clarity of thought

Rest

Selah- pause and calmly think of that. PAUSE.

We need to be filled with His goodness consistently. When we rest, He removes anything that is detrimental to HIS character. HIS Rest causes is to feel satisfied, nourished, and restored from the inside out. REFRESHED, REFILLED, REVIVED, RENEWED, REJUVENATED, REPLENISHED IN HIS PRESENCE: RESTING. Resting in His Grace changes our viewing platform and our perspective. REST IS A GIFT FROM GOD that we need to take care of our spirits, souls and bodies.
-Saundra Deltona Smith MD. SACRED REST

Some ways to come into rest:

BODY – MIND – EMOTIONS – WILL – SPIRIT   Rest in Your Identity as ACCEPTED IN THE BELOVED.

“A wounded spirit who can bear?” PROVERBS 18:14b(KJV)

GOD CAN HEAL THIS. GOD CAN HEAL ANYTHING.

“SPIRIT-MAN, ALIGNED WITH GOD, WALKING IN RHYTHM WITH HIM IN AUTHENTIC TRUTH, WILL RESULT IN HEALING AND ACCEPTANCE IN EVERY PART OF OUR BEING.” -Pastor Marie

Social – Sensory – Creative

COME TO GOD. GET RESTED IN HIS PRESENCE.

Matthew 11:28-30 “Come to Me, all who are weary and heavy-laden, and I will give you rest. Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will FIND REST FOR YOUR SOULS, for My yoke is easy, and My burden is light.”

Mark 6:31 Then, because so many people were coming and going that they did not even have a chance to eat, he said to them, “COME WITH ME BY YOURSELVES TO A QUIET PLACE AND GET SOME REST.”

When we rest, we synchronize with God. Our natural circadian rhythm will reset in harmony with Him.

Exodus 33:14- My Presence shall go with you, AND I WILL GIVE YOU REST.

Nu’ach: to rest, settle down, be soothed or quieted; to be secure; to be still; to dwell peacefully.

Ephesians 3:14-17(TPT) “So I kneel humbly in awe before the Father of our Lord Jesus, the Messiah, the perfect Father of every father and child in heaven and on the earth. And I pray that he will unveil within you the unlimited riches of his glory and favor until supernatural strength floods your innermost being with his divine might and explosive power. Then, by constantly using your faith, the life of Christ will be released deep inside you, and THE RESTING PLACE OF HIS LOVE will become the very source and root of your life.”

The Lord’s Prayer – 11-Jul-2021

by Pastor Marie Esposito

The Lord’s Prayer

Our heavenly Father,  MAY THE GLORY OF YOUR NAME BE THE CENTER ON WHICH OUR LIFE TURNS. May your Holy Spirit come upon us and cleanse us. Manifest your kingdom on earth. Luke 11:2

John 17:26

Jesus’s LIFE PURPOSE WAS TO MAKE KNOWN THE NAME, THE CHARACTER AND THE WILL OF GOD TO HIS DISCIPLES.

Luke 11:1-4

OUR FATHER -Family -intimate relationship – acknowledging God’s authority – His protection, His care, His love is ours. All that He is- is ours – all His expressions are functions – every aspect of what is His is ours.

WHO ART IN HEAVEN-Where is heaven? In the heavens and here and in our hearts.

HALLOWED BE THY NAME- Worshiping and bowing in reverence before the Holy Father.  Surrender.  All of his Names indicate His character. First and foremost, He is Holy. – His empowering grace for us.

THY KINGDOM COME, THY WILL BE DONE, ON EARTH AS IT IS IN HEAVEN- We are in agreement with your desire for Your Kingdom to rule and reign. Your will is best.

GIVE US THIS DAY OUR DAILY BREAD… We ask for provision for the day, physical and spiritual. We ask specifically for again indicative of the intimate family relationship.

FORGIVE US AS WE FORGIVE OTHERS-Be specific – Confess, repent, and move back into grace. Help us with this and that. Help me with this and that.

LEAD US NOT INTO TEMPTATION – Keep us making good decisions and remain on the narrow path in this and that.

DELIVER US FROM EVIL – deliver us from the snare of the fowler. Ps 91:3 says Surely He shall deliver you from the snare of the fowler. Father, help us to uncover the subtle plans of the enemy.

MODEL  – OUTLINE FOR EXPANSION. JH

God’s power alone can change things and bring heaven’s rule (HIS kingdom) INSTEAD, and the honor and the glory for PRAYER’S ANSWERS ARE HIS.

THE PRAYING IS OURS TO DO.

ALL KINGDOM MINISTRY BEGINS WITH, IS SUSTAINED BY, AND WILL TRIUMPH THROUGH PRAYER. JH

Without the intervention of God’s kingdom rule through prayer, Earth’s circumstances will succumb to inevitable consequences. Earthly scenes of need MUST  be penetrated by God’s “will here, as in heaven.”

INTERCESSION. WE REPLACE AND DISPLACE  powers, principalities, rulers of darkness and their evil intentions, and man’s base, evil fleshly inclinations. WE MUST PRAY-

HERE IT IS IN THE PASSION VERSION-Luke 11:1-4 “Would you teach us a model prayer that we can pray, just like John did for his disciples?” 2 So Jesus taught them this prayer: “OUR HEAVENLY FATHER, MAY THE GLORY OF YOUR NAME BE THE CENTER ON WHICH OUR LIFE TURNS. May your Holy Spirit come upon us and cleanse us. Manifest your kingdom on earth. 3 And give us our needed bread for the coming day. 4 Forgive our sins as we ourselves release forgiveness to those who have wronged us. And rescue us every time we face tribulations.”

PERSISTENCE BROUGHT THE DESIRED OUTCOME.

He instructs us to ask and keep on asking persistently; Seek and keep on seeking persistently; Knock and keep on knocking persistently and the door will OPEN.

Holy Hush

“The Spirit of Wisdom and Understanding”

by Pastor Roy

Holy Hush

by Pastor Marie

Sing His Praises and Stand in Silent Communion.

The quiet, descending, ascending, all-enveloping, all-encompassing peace that covers my soul in the time when His holy Presence fills the room, blanketing me with a holy hush.

When The Holy Spirit enters my dwelling, and my eternal, internal dwelling as well as the room I am in, with His calming Presence, GRACE UPON GRACE.  He touches my soul, heals my body, fills my spirit, and continues filling me with the all-encompassing love that is His very nature. There is nothing quite like it.

I found unspeakable joy

My heart slows, and my breath stills, as His very sacred breath falls in rhythm with mine, calming my heart, assuring me that keeping me safe is His priority, with reassuring murmurs of His cascading waves of glory- He stills my soul.

I recall four specific times recently when I experienced His Holy Hush entering my circumstances.

When I was in the operating room having my eye fixed, He met me right there and enveloped me in His grace to remain still.

My husband opened the door to our room with a beautifully displayed, absolutely delicious lunch he had prepared for me. It was such a gift of love. I thanked God;

after lying in bed for two days and nights on my back with my chin elevated. I was able to lay on my side: finished. God came into my room and enfolded me into His arms, and I was totally immersed in His ever-present loving embrace. Cocooned in Him.

I looked out the front door and saw all the buds on the trees and the shoots from the bulbs I had planted springing up with the promise of beautiful flowers.

He met me in all those moments right where I was. I worshiped, so grateful. They were life-changing moments.

TO YOU belongs silence (the submissive wonder of reverence which bursts forth into praise), and praise is due and fitting to You, O God, in Zion; and to You shall the vow be performed. Psalm 65:1
In the kingdom of grace (v. 1),
hearing prayer (v. 2)
pardoning sin (v. 3)
satisfying our souls as a people (v. 4),
protecting and supporting us (v. 5)
In the kingdom of the earth
fixing the mountains (v. 6)
calming the sea (v. 7)
preserving the regular succession of day and night (v. 8)
making the earth fruitful (v. 9-13).

Sing His Praises and Stand in Silence: bowing in humble gratitude and awe: we bow down low hearing the holy HUSH. Listening to the eternal involves a silence within us. Communion and contentment.

There’s a Place – Leonard Jones
There’s a Place, In my heart,
Where I worship, where I praise
Lord, it’s only for You
There’s a Room, pure and white
and you know it’s holy, holy,
Lord, it’s only for You.
There’s a Hope, in my heart,
no one else gives, no one has,
it comes only from You
There’s a song that I sing,
No one else knows, no one hears,
Lord, it’s only for You.

Forsaking Pride – 8-Mar-2021

Holy Spirit’s Moods

by Pastor Marie

Forsaking Pride

by Pastor Roy

  • God saves us in order to transform us!
  • Transformation requires change = UNCOMFORTABLE.
  • Growing in God = becoming comfortable with being uncomfortable
  • Faith, Trust, and HUMILITY needed to move forward.
  • James 4:8 – As we acknowledge our sin, ask for forgiveness and turn from self-focus, we will “draw near to God.”
  • Only God has the power for transformation and holds our destiny in His hands.
  • Jeremiah 29:11
  • Humility is the key to enhanced SEEING.
  • God is not looking for talented or intellectual people – but for people who are YIELDED.
  • Matthew 11:25  “Learn of Me…”
  • We learn by LISTENING.  Stop TALKING, yield, “wake up!”
  • 1 Peter 5:5 “God gives grace to the HUMBLE…”
  • It is actually the proud who RESIST God’s grace because they do not ask for it.
  • SIN is not overcome by Church rules of behavior nor through purging the sinner.
  • 1 Peter 4:8 – “Love COVERS a multitude of sin.”
  • 1 Corinthians 13:4-7 “Love’s” method  – “Love does not delight in evil but rejoices in TRUTH – it always trusts, always hopes.”
  • Love considers UNTRUTH – Evil.
  • Remember: Jesus did not condemn sinners – he condemned HYPOCRITES.
  • Hypocrite – one who excuses his own sin while condemning the sins of others
  • Many times, a hypocrite does not discern his hypocrisy – he is not AWAKE enough to do so, and the corruption in his own heart is never confronted.
  • Not seeking mercy or grace, he receives NONE and therefore has none to offer others.
  • Since he is always under God’s judgment – judging is all he can offer others.
  • Confronting personal sin takes HUMILITY.
  • James 4:6 – God’s grace is drawn to the humble
  • Humility is the sub-structure of transformation.  It is the essence of ALL virtues.
  • All people at some point in life will be confronted with the impurities of their hearts.
  • Our response will determine our direction forward.
  • It is at these crossroads of life that both holy men and hypocrites are bred.
  • Mattew 24:14 – “Many are called…”
  • Sanctification starts not with rules but with forsaking PRIDE.
  • Purity begins with a determined refusal to hide from the condition of our hearts.

Humility

Holy Spirit is a Person

Holy Spirit is a Person 7 fold power of the Holy Spirit

by Pastor Marie

Humility

— God saves us so He can transform us!
— Transformation = CHANGE
— Humility allows us the capacity to recognize what needs to be changed

— F. Frangipane  — “Humility is the spiritual capacity that enables us to perceive our need.”

James 4:6 – ”God resists the proud but gives grace to the humble.”
— God resists the proud because the proud resist God.
— Humility must be “put on.” (Colossians 3:12) through consistent and conscious decisions and actions.
— Spiritual Humility is a created attribute of a character that is formed in us through a deepening  relationship with God practiced consistently
— Humility — the greatest virtue in heaven -(Matthew 18:4)
— No other virtue can enter our lives except humility requests it to come.
— Saul of Tarsus — considered himself “blameless before God” before his conversion.
— His meeting with Jesus devastated that opinion of himself.
— When we meet Jesus along our road, He will “DE-MASK-US” as well
— “Humble yourselves under the mighty hand of God–”  (1 Peter 5:6)
— Every time we embrace MEEKNESS/Teachableness, we are embracing Sustained Transformation.
— “Learn of Me, for I am MEEK and lowly of heart.” –(Matthew 11:29)
–” Learn” of Jesus in order to understand the power of His Humility

Philippians 2:5-8
— Zephaniah 3:11-12

— Grace – not only unmerited favor but also the power to do what we cannot do by ourselves.
