 Kfar  — village 
 Nachum  — a form of the Heb. name Nahum
“The village of the prophet Nahum”
 
Kfar  — a Shelter  (root word: kaphar— atonement, mercy, reconciliation, forgiveness) 
Nachum  —  Comfort and consolation
 
Kfar Nachum — “The village of Comfort; The Shelter of Consolation”
 
Jesus’ Time  — Kfar becomes — Caper   
                       Nachum becomes – Naum 
                      Caper + Naum = Capernaum: the place where Jesus did much of His ministry
 
The Village of Comfort where He healed the sick, forgave sins, and received the rejected.
 
Nachum is linked to repentance  — turning and choosing God and receiving His peace.
