John 17:14-15 – World – Cosmos – Refers to the inhabited Earth which is currently functioning through a system under Satans’ rule.

Jesus’ disciples are no longer BOUND by the principals of this realm:
IN the world but not OF the world
Physically present but not part of it’d values.

Vs. 17 – Sanctified by God’s truth.  Set apart, made holy, purified and made conducive to spiritual blessing

Vs. 18 –Sent into the world.

Passion – “I have commissioned them to represent Me just as You have commissioned Me to represent You.”

Primary Mission – “—on Earth as it is in heaven.”

“If the primary mission is the primary motivation ALL the world’s resources become available for use.” – PR

2 Corinthians 6:1 – Workers with Him!

1 Corinthians 3:9(NIV) – Co-workers in God’s

“Absolute surrender to God’s will and His plan is the only way the ‘mission’ can succeed.” – PR

“Surrender allows one to cross-through the barrier to the holy place and to deepened intimacy and friendship with God to become participants in, and contributors to, the Divine Will – not just observers!” – PR

Names – more than labels: they assigned the character and nature indicating what type of being it would be.

  1. Keeps the humility and obedience of a servant
  2. Change in a relational perspective
  3. Embrace the “mission”
  4. The Mission takes precedence over “soulish” desires
  5. Your ideas, desires, and dreams become important and God considers them in His acts of creation
